In March 2017, Young Living Brand Ambassador and dogsled musher Mitch Seavey won the Iditarod and broke the record by almost eight hours—making him a three-time champion and the oldest person ever to win the race. This long-distance race traverses the rugged landscape of Alaska, from Settler’s Bay to Nome. This year, at age 57, Mitch broke trail ahead of other racers through windblown and drifted snow in temperatures as low as 50 degrees below zero while maintaining an incredible pace.
A lifetime musher, Mitch grew up around the race, training and handling for his father for the first Iditarod race to Nome in 1973. Mitch’s son, Dallas, age 30, also raced in this year’s Iditarod, taking second place behind Mitch.
In this episode, Mitch talks about his experiences on the trail and exemplifies what it means to stay young at heart.
