Surrender Negativity and Unconscious Manipulation With Essential Oils

Editor’s Note: This blog post is the fifth and sixth of six summarizing the workshop given by D. Gary Young at the 2012 Young Living International Grand Convention on spiritual healing. In the previous posts, Gary talked about:

Now he talks more about surrendering negativity.

When I was sitting in the wheelchair, I didn’t have to cough, I didn’t have to holler, “Somebody out there, could you bring me a glass of water?” One of my children or my wife, mother, or father was in earshot asking, “Gary, do you need your pills or pain meds? Can I help you? Do you need to go to the bathroom?” Holy cow, talk about power and control. Who in their right mind would ever want to give that up?

That’s why I say that when you feel stuck or when you’re in the pits of negativity, you tend to have an illusion of controlling other people so that they can help you. So then create the energy of giving it up, and surrender that attachment and control.

Disease can be nothing more than manipulation, because we might think that disease creates control and gives you power over everyone around you. It doesn’t matter how negative your feelings about your situation are; if you’re saying you don’t want to bother other people with your problems, what you’re really saying is that you want to bother them with them.

That’s when you need to use Surrender. Where do you put it? Put it on the sternum, heart, shoulders, back, head, and the feet so that it saturates every part of your being.

The information this oil imparts to your body can then be translated on a cellular level, resulting in behavior and physical activity changes, mood elevation, and energy changes.

Here, right here is the locus coeruleus, right at the brain stem. If you go right up your spine to that indent just above your hairline, that’s the locus coeruleus. That is the switchboard for all signals and messages throughout your entire brain and body.

What is energy? How do we define energy? Energy is strength of body or mind to do things.

Thoughts are energy. Does that make sense? Would you agree? “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he” (Proverbs 23:7).  What is the fourth word in that sentence? And what is the seventh word in that sentence? So what is it telling you? When you think a thought, it goes where? To the heart. And what does the heart do? It creates the manifestation. So does this say, “Think and it shall be” or “Heart and it is?” Both are engaged. Thought provokes the heart, which provokes the emotion.

Is your spoken word energy? Is it effective? “For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast” (Psalms 33:9).

Where is your power? Take back your power; become what you desire to be. In Luke 10:19 we read, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy.” Is disease enemy? Yes. “And nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

But how many of you believe it? And how many of you know it in the DNA of your body to where you command it to be such, and it is?

For those of you who want to change your life, use your oils, and speak your desire. Write down what you want.

If you’re looking at problems, if you’ve got problems in your marriage, for instance, the first thing you do is sit down with your spouse and be very clear and direct: What is it that I want out of this relationship?  You see, every time we go down the road of marriage, we may start out with all of this love and romance and hormones just a-dancin’ and the receptors a-buzzin’; but somewhere down the road, reality sets in that there’s more to being married than just getting your blood pressure up. In order to make a good marriage happen, two people have to understand what it is they really want and if they want to share it together.

God wishes for His people to be a happy, healthy, and joyful people. I have seen no place where He says He wishes for His people to go down to earth and roll in the dirt, get stinky, be sick, be inflicted with disease, get divorced and live in misery, or stay together and live in misery. No, that’s not what He says or wants.

So all of you have to define and decide what it is that you want. When you are happy, when you are self-fulfilled, that is when you can be the greatest emissary and example to others that God exists, because that’s when His Spirit works through you to help you fulfill your potential.

So take your opportunity, embrace it, and enjoy it. When you write down the things that you’re feeling, things that are hurting you, things that you want, things you would like to change, be honest and clear with each other and give each other space to do this. Be honest. Be real.

If you fell in love in the beginning, you can fall in love again, because love is about investment. Are you willing to invest in each other? This world needs examples of happy couples, and you can’t do that without investing in each other. You can’t do it without going back and looking at what kindled that spark in the first place and establishing the reality of maintaining it today, whether it has been 10 or 20 years.

Mary and I [had] our 18th anniversary [in 2012]. Wow! We have had some really difficult times, as you can imagine. Our life is not a piece of cake, and we have to invest in it every day—every day—to have happiness, peace of mind, satisfaction, and fulfillment. Many times I don’t fulfill Mary’s needs, because I get caught up in some distant land climbing a frankincense tree, jockeying a camel across the Empty Quarter, or boating down the Amazon. When I return, I have to understand that she has needs, and she has to be willing to sit and tell me what those needs are.

We guys are so insecure in who we are that we find our security in doing things like building a house so people can say, “Whoa, boy, that’s a beautiful log cabin you’ve put up there, even if the corners aren’t square.” We get our self-fulfillment in physical things, but women are not the same. Women need to be touched, they need to be held, they need to know you care, guys. They need to know that when you’re away, you’re thinking about them and can’t wait to get home.

And gals, your husbands have been out there working hard, trying to pay the bills, so when they walk through the door, they need to know that you love them. They need to know that they are your king, and when you treat each other like a king and queen, you will be. You will be!

So take your oils and build your new life. Use your Transformation blend to help you in that transition time. Use Joy, Abundance, Highest Potential, 3 Wise Men, and Magnify Your Purpose. Empower your passion with En-R-Gee, Gratitude, and Humility; and if you’re stuck and haven’t been able to break free, remember Forgiveness.
